What Sync Pro can and cannot see of your WhatsApp

What you grant when you link the number, what we deliberately do not do, the PIN we generate for you, and how to disconnect.

Linking a business number to any platform is a reasonable thing to be careful about. This is what the connection actually covers.

What you grant

You link a WhatsApp Business number — the number your business answers on — to Sync Pro, through Facebook's own window. What that allows is:

  • Receiving the messages people send to that business number.
  • Sending messages and templates from that business number.
  • Reading the delivery and reading confirmations WhatsApp reports for those messages.
  • Reading the numbers of your WhatsApp Business account, keeping your message templates in sync and knowing when Meta approves or rejects them.

That is the whole of it, and it applies to that one WhatsApp Business account and the number you confirm.

What we do not do

  • We do not read your personal WhatsApp. The account on your phone, its chats and its groups are a different thing entirely and Sync Pro has no access to any of it.
  • We do not move your number to another account. It stays in your business portfolio, owned by you.
  • We do not write to your contacts on our own. Every message leaves because a person in your team sent it, or because a person scheduled it. The one exception is the ChatGPT module: when it is connected and the contact's responsible user (the first one, when there are several) is set up to answer with it — a setting made from Sync Pro's own administration, not from your team's screens — ChatGPT replies on its own, by WhatsApp, to every text message that contact sends. There is no draft to review first, and the conversation text is sent to OpenAI to write the reply.

The PIN we generate for you

When you link the number, Sync Pro generates its two-step verification PIN — six digits — registers the number with it, and shows it in Two-step PIN on the connection screen.

It is the PIN of the number, and WhatsApp asks for it whenever the number is registered again, here or on any other platform. Sync Pro made it up for you so you did not have to invent one, and it is shown so you can keep it.

Write it down somewhere you will find it later. It stays on the connection screen while the number is connected, but Disconnect erases it, and nobody can read it back to you after that. You will need it the day you move this number to another provider.

If the number was already working on WhatsApp's cloud when you linked it, Sync Pro does not register it again, and it keeps the PIN it already had. A number connected with token access gets no PIN from Sync Pro. See Write down the PIN.

Disconnecting

Disconnect, in Settings → Integrations, removes the team's WhatsApp credentials and the PIN from Sync Pro. It happens at once, without asking for confirmation. Sync Pro stops sending and receiving on the number.

What stays: your conversations, your contacts, your boards, your templates and your call records. Disconnecting is not deleting; it stops the channel.

What stays on Meta's side: the number remains registered on WhatsApp, and Sync Pro's application remains subscribed to your WhatsApp Business account. Sync Pro does not remove either. To take the application out of your account, do it in your Business Manager.

What goes: nothing arrives after that, and nothing can be sent, and Chats and Kanban leave the menu until a number is linked again. You can link the same number again, or a different one, whenever you want. See Turning modules on and off.
