The Azure Language module

Read the sentiment of every turn of a call with your own Azure Language resource — what it needs, how to switch it on and off, and what happens when it is off.

The Azure Language module reads the transcript of a call and rates every turn of the conversation as positive, negative or neutral. That rating is what colours each sentence of the Transcription on the call's page: green for positive, red for negative, grey for neutral.

What it needs

  • The rest of the chain. Azure Language works on a transcript, so it needs the Callpicker module for the recordings, the Assembly AI module to turn them into text and the ChatGPT module connected to pass the transcript on.
  • An Azure Language resource. Its endpoint and one of its keys. Usage is billed to your Azure account, not to Sync Pro.

Turning it on and off

The Azure Language module is free, and your team switches it on itself. Someone whose role has Manage Plans opens Add-ons from the menu, finds Azure Language and presses Activate; Deactivate, in the same place, switches it off. Whoever administers your Sync Pro can also give it to your team, for good or as a trial, and a plan can include it.

Connecting it

With the module on, Settings → Integrations gains an Azure Language Configuration section with two fields, and both are required:

Field What to put in it
Azure Language Endpoint The endpoint of your Azure Language resource.
Azure Language Api Key A key for that resource.

Press Save at the end of the page. A saved key is never shown again: the field reads Current value: followed by its last four characters, and Change opens it to type a new one.

Every member can open Settings, but only someone whose role has the Edit Settings permission sees the content of Integrations.

The whole chain, and how to read a call once it has been through it, is in Call transcription and sentiment.

When it is off

Turning the module off removes its section from Settings → Integrations, and the chain stops before the sentiment step, so new calls get no transcript you can see. Nothing is deleted: the calls already rated keep their colours, your saved endpoint and key stay, and turning the module on again picks up with the next call.
